Notable absence, not an oversight: neither Kentucky's nursing-home operation regulation (902 KAR 20:048, which requires only individual attending/on-call physician coverage) nor its assisted-living-community rule (902 KAR 20:480, which requires only a licensed health professional for assessments/medication management) imposes a facility-level 'medical director' designation. A federal medical-director requirement (42 CFR § 483.75(i)) still applies separately to any Kentucky nursing home that is Medicare/Medicaid certified — this entry addresses only Kentucky's own state licensure text.
